Barça Ready for First Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
