British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
