David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions involving female individuals.

The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
