Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.

The tennis star celebrating a point
Aryna Sabalenka ended the tour with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a record £11m in earnings.

She received almost 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".

  • Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five championship matches.
